We are looking for an experienced DPO to be responsible for all elements of data protection compliance in the markets that Indicia Worldwide trade in.

Purpose of the role:

Reporting directly to the Global Director Of Data & Insight, the job holder will be responsible for all elements of data protection compliance in the markets that Indicia Worldwide trade in. 

This is a business critical role, at a time when the data industry is under-going significant change. The individual needs to demonstrate a real deep understanding in data protection regulation and how to enforce this successfully in a commercial environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Creation and leadership of a governance network for all things relating to data protection across the markets of EMEA, NAM and APAC. The governance network will include both internal employees but also specialist legal counsel where required from each region
  • Creation and management of the necessary processes needed to demonstrate data protection compliance across the different markets
  • Creation and management of the necessary evidence needed to demonstrate data protection compliance
  • The go-to person for all data protection queries on a day to day basis, ensuring data protection is given due consideration as part of all client and new business considerations
  • The go-to person for all data protection queries from data subjects – for example, processing Subject Access Requests
  • Working closely with the Indicia Worldwide commercial teams to ensure that the necessary legal agreements are in place with all parties where data is processed
  • Working closely with the KM Data Protection Officer to ensure that there is a consistent approach to the training of Indicia Worldwide staff on all matters relating to data protection
  • Acts as the main contact point for all data suppliers, ensuring we have an effective working relationship in place and that our suppliers can demonstrate data protection compliance at all times

Key Experience, Skills and Knowledge:

  • A data protection professional with long-standing experience in data protection compliance, having worked in similar roles elsewhere
  • An in-depth knowledge of the GDPR and also other EU regulatory data protection requirements – eg, UK ePrivacy
  • Has a working knowledge of data protection principles in other markets such as NAM and APAC
  • Experience of working as part of a global team, building relationships across different time zones and cultures
  • Is able to demonstrate an understanding of the potential changes in data protection regulation in different markets and proactively define the likely impact this will have on our business
  • Is able to communication technical aspects of data protection law in a clear and concise way to less technically minded colleagues and stakeholders
