Realising ROI with an in-store campaign inspired by the art of delicious cravings

Our engaging creative and social media strategy resulted in sales uptake in a few weeks making it a hugely successful campaign for Goodman Fielder Food Service and participating café businesses.

The challenge

Goodman Fielder identified an opportunity to improve marketing performance by targeting their café customers with a campaign to grow basket sales across their bacon, bread, butter and cheese categories. We helped them depart from the brand’s regular pricing promotions and brought to life an idea inspired by bacon and café culture in an appetisingly engaging way.

The approach

Our creative team understood that the emotional aspect of eating is truly artistic. We tend to eat with our eyes and imagination, long before we actually taste anything. With this insight in mind, we designed a bacon butty campaign to whet appetites and entice the senses.

We crafted a key visual and POS materials that featured food styling, photography and recipe development. Cafés were provided with a campaign pack on sign-up which included all POS, giving the spaces a facelift. The result was a tasty visual treat that inspired demand for bacon butties among customers.

From here, we developed a highly effective social media strategy, inviting customers to share their most insta-braggable butties with #BestBaconButtysNZ and tag their favourite café.

The results

The departure from the regular pricing promotions allowed Goodman Fielder to maximise ROI with a creative campaign that resulted in a massive 35% sales uptake. Showing that the combined efforts of that creativity, production expertise and strategy are key to producing a campaign that's efficient and effective at the same time.
